Amazon Announces an Apology for Its Servers’ Outage and Offers Free Credit to Its Affected Customers as Compensation


Amazon.com Inc. has published an apology for troubles at its data center which took place on Friday. In the apology it admits that one of its data-center faced outage which consequently led to several widely used websites to fall down. Some of the key websites affected by this mishap were Foursquare and Reddit. The apology also went on announcing that as compensation Amazon Inc. has granted free credit of 10 day to all its Web services customers which were affected.

The company has not yet declared the degree of loss, or the amount of credits this incident has cost. Amazon Web Services is not exactly the best-money making business of Amazon Inc., in fact it only counts few percent of the total annual revenue of Amazon. However, having said that, recently Amazon Inc. is working hard on its Web Services and aims to have better results from the business in the future. The service has been renting out computers on hourly basis.

Amazon Lays of 69 Cents per Songs to Attract More Customers


Song downloads are cheaper today than they were ever before, as the hunt to kill piracy pursues towards achieving their goal, the standards and market of legal song downloads increase day by day. Just recently owing to a very smart and technical decision, Amazon has cut down 20 cents of cost per song for several of its most downloaded MP3 songs. This is a very sharp attempt to give a head on survival battle against other rival music download businesses, like Apple Inc.’s iTunes, which is the current leader of the market. These lessened prices are perfectly aimed towards am average user to become a more loyal customer of the e-commerce giant company, such as Amazon. It has cut off the price of the top-selling songs and the resulting retail price is set to 69 cents only.

According to a report of LA Times, they have calculated that the market share of Amazon music business is constantly being faded away from the last couple years and has led down a total of almost 10 percent. On the other hand, it also mentioned that its chief rival, Apple’s iTunes has inversely enjoyed a constant increase in the market share leading up to a total of 70 percent.

Google Releases an Official Google Docs App Dedicatedly Developed For Android Devices


Google has finally released its dedication app for its own Android OS; it was announced by a blog post published on this Wednesday by the Mountain View Company. This official post describes that how can this new app of Google based on its own highly admired Android OS allows the user easily and quickly “filter and search for your content across any Google account, then jump straight into editing docs using the online mobile editors. The app also allows you to easily share items with contacts on your phone, right from within the app.”

Friendster Promises to Make It’s Mark in the Market as a Website Which Is unlike Facebook


The almost-dead social networking website, Friendster has recently announced to be deleting the almost a decade long collection of their user photos, blog posts, including other data in a little while. This step is owed to a complete makeover for the social networking website, a makeover which will make it a complete reciprocal of Facebook, rather than being a rival, said the spokesman of the company Thursday.

The refurbishment of the service of Friendster is intended to once again bring it in the limelight which the website received in its earlier days before it was outnumbered and crushed by the giant Facebook. Facebook has almost more than 600 million active users to date, whereas Friendster at its peak time only mounted up a total 115 million registered members, it was the time of 2002. However, it is interesting to notice that only 40 million ouy of those have currently applicable emails and even less than that can be classified as active users.
