Friendster Promises to Make It’s Mark in the Market as a Website Which Is unlike Facebook

The almost-dead social networking website, Friendster has recently announced to be deleting the almost a decade long collection of their user photos, blog posts, including other data in a little while. This step is owed to a complete makeover for the social networking website, a makeover which will make it a complete reciprocal of Facebook, rather than being a rival, said the spokesman of the company Thursday.

The refurbishment of the service of Friendster is intended to once again bring it in the limelight which the website received in its earlier days before it was outnumbered and crushed by the giant Facebook. Facebook has almost more than 600 million active users to date, whereas Friendster at its peak time only mounted up a total 115 million registered members, it was the time of 2002. However, it is interesting to notice that only 40 million ouy of those have currently applicable emails and even less than that can be classified as active users.

Friendster Finally Announces To Delete All Previous Old Data Including Photos for a Complete Makeover of the Website

A certain aged people who used to intensively use internet for networking in their teen ages and are no longer involved that much, but are often embarrassed of having unordinary photos and comments or such kind of material on the once-best networking website, Friendster. If in any case, you’re hoping to keep them safe than you definitely need to be more vigilant as the website has announced that it is soon going to begin a complete makeover for itself. As a part of this makeover, the networking website has declared that it will be deleting all its material after the 31st of May. The developers of Friendster have launched a quick tool which easily exports these photos along with other materials transferable material to the computers or other sites like Flickr accounted by the specific user.

As much as this initiative of transferring the material easily, the problem is that many, in fact almost all, of the users are no longer in access of their Friendster account. It was about eight years back that this social network had some hype but since after that many people have forgotten their login information or even worse dumped their affiliated email accounts too. It has been announced that all the accounts information on the social website will be completely deleted. The next step of Friendster’s is to completely overhaul the website and this time come-off as an entertainment-based site, somewhat similar to Myspace. However, it is very difficult to picture what’s coming next, if we consider the announcement made by the company, as it remains pretty ambiguous. The company intends to this time lay focus of its new website on the Asian users, which is reasonably considering that MOL Global, a Malaysian company owns the website now.
