Google has formally
introduced the official Android 6.0 SDK along with the final preview of
Android M, now being presented as Marshmallow. In his remarks about the name of
the latest release, Android product manager, Jamal Eason, explained that “whether
you like them straight out of the bag, roasted to a golden brown exterior with
a molten centre, or in fluff form, who doesn’t like marshmallows?”

Apart from its traditionally unique name, there are a ton of
new and unique features in the new update that were promised in the launch of
the M Developer Preview at Google I/O. The changes include, but are not limited
to, updates to the Fingerprint API for better error reporting, fingerprint
enrolment and greater reliability, along with an update to the permissions user
interface. In addition to that, the latest version of android will also feature
Doze, which is supposed to reduce background app activity when the device is
inactive in order to provide a longer battery life, and a USB-C connector that aims
to charge devices three to five times faster than current chargers.

Since Android Marshmallow has now been officially launched,
developers are also permitted to publish apps for Android Marshmallow on Google
Play. However, the Android team leader at app developer firm Mubaloo, Adam
Mayer cautioned developers to ensure first if their apps are ready for Android
6.0. He explained that “this means ensuring app permissions reflect the new
system, streamlining the app install and update process.” Mayer advised developers
to use the new Android Support library, which will make it easier for them to
integrate new features in a backwards compatible way to support the variety of
operating systems in use today.

Having said that, Mayer also warned developers over adoption
rates. He said that “despite the advances to Android, Android Marshmallow faces
the issue of its OEM partners, particularly those in China, who continue to
eschew the latest version of its OS and services.” Mayer claimed that “even
Samsung has launched its upgraded Samsung Pay that will likely displace Google
Pay on its devices,” adding that “the main people to benefit from the
improvements will be those who chose stock Android, or have a phone where their
operator or manufacturer enables upgrades to the latest OS.”

game developer that was quite for a long time since its acquisition, i.e. Shenandoah
Studio, has finally made a formal announcement about its future
plans. Since being acquired by Slitherine, Shenandoah Studio only made one brief
statement last April. Now, the company has announced that its first and one
of the best strategy games on mobile, Battle of the Bulge, will relaunch
on September 17th on PC, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

A new website providing shady services, dubbed as Hacker's List, has vowed to provide professional hackers at discretion of internet users. The site aims to sell the sinister services like breaking in to an ex's email address to taking out an enemy's website. It allows users to anonymously hire “professional” hackers in order to perform hacks ranging from hacking into Facebook and e-mail accounts to changing academic grades.

The description on the website states that “hiring a hacker shouldn't be a difficult process, we believe that finding a trustworthy professional hacker for hire should be a worry free and painless experience. At Hacker's List we want to provide you with the best opportunity to find your ideal hacker and for professional hackers around the world to find you. Our hacker-for-hire review process makes it so that only the best hackers for hire are allowed to offer their services and expertise,"

Ironically, the site registered in New Zealand strictly prohibits its users to "use the service for any illegal purposes" and has emphasized on that in its terms and conditions section. However, the site was filled with requests that many would count as illegal activities. Among the services offered or requested on the website were android game hacks, iPhone hacks, Facebook account hacks, etc.

Regardless of how authentic or successful the site is, Hacker's List essentially boasts on its ability to keep anonymity of the pairing. In addition to that, the website also aims to prevent scamming aspect of a hire-a-hacker site by keeping the funds for a particular job escrow until the job is completed. The site description says that it "encourages hackers to have the highest level of service to maximize their earning potential.”

Several sources have claimed that Google is interested, and is most likely, to buy the mobile payment company, SoftCard. The mobile payment service is currently in collaboration with majority of the top mobile service providers in the United Sates, including AT&T Inc., Verizon Communications Inc. and T-Mobile US Inc.

Softcard has Windows and Android compatibility and also allows its users to make payments via various payment terminals. The company initially entered the market with the name of ISIS but for obvious reasons it had to change its name and went with SoftCard.

Despite the increasing number of rumors following this unconfirmed story, both Google and SoftCard have refused to comment on the ongoing deal. A Google spokesperson branded the news as a rumor and stressed that “we don’t have a comment, background, deep background, off-the-record steer, nod, wink or any other verbal or nonverbal response to these sorts of rumors.”

Many market analysts have speculated that Softcard-deal might give an unanticipated shake-out to other mobile payment services in the market. Recent accomplishments of Apple Pay have already forced others to rethink their positions. According to one analyst, since “Apple pay is picking up in popularity and PayPal going solo later this year every major tech company is rethinking their mobile payments strategy” adding that “we are likely to see a lot of M&A activity in this space.”

The message posted on Tuesday afternoon promoted the new BlackBerry Classic phone and urged consumers to “keep up with the conversation” on Twitter, accompanying a lovely looking photo of the BlackBerry Classic.
Perhaps Google is one of many high-status companies investing large lumps of money on the idea of ‘autonomous driverless cars’ which can drive themselves. If you look up Google, several other major automakers and U.S. government agencies like DARPA and the U.S. Army have been effectively running related research projects. But it is Google who has brought some reality to the idea and is now putting all-hands-on-deck on its project.

This Tuesday, September 25, 2012, California became the third state of the U.S., following Nevada and Florida, to sign a legislation which legally gives permission to Google for testing it driverless cars on the state's roads. Nevada has already granted an official permission in June 2011, whereas Florida did so in April, 2012. Similar legislations are soon expected to be drawn up in Hawaii and Oklahoma as well.

Before all this in March 2011, the Google engineer who led the research which brought this advancement to light today, Sebastian Thrun, gave an aspiring highlight of his project in a TED presentation which is worth watching. He mentioned his primary purpose was to save the lives of those millions of people from all over the world who have faded due to numerous traffic accidents, also the case of his friends when he was 18.

This Tuesday after signing the paperwork in Google Headquarters, Google co-founder Sergey Brin, made a statement wearing Project Glass augmented reality glasses saying “It really has the power to change people’s lives, that’s why I’m really excited about it.” Brin explained that “there are many, many people who are under-served by our transportation system today.” Brin listed a wide range of groups, including the blind, people too young or too old to drive, drunk drivers and people with other disabilities, who will be able to take benefit of the autonomous driverless car.

Brin declared that “I expect self-driving cars are going to be far safer than human-driven cars.” He said “It’s at a substantial cost that we embrace our transportation systems. And I believe self-driving cars can eradicate much of that cost.” Brin shard his experience saying “I got used to it pretty d--- quickly.”

It is a tough call and the prediction is not so easy to make, though according to the statistics Twitter may need to start worrying about the rising problem. Sina Weibo, seen by the analysts to be an amalgam of both Twitter and Facebook, currently houses almost 140 million users, whereas as the company hopes to reach around 200 million by the end of this year. Moreover, it cannot be declared that since Sina Weibo is successful and popular in China, it will enjoy the same liberty in the global business. But so far, Sina Weibo has proved that it cannot allow Twitter to make its market in China. It will be interesting to see whether Twitter can do the same for The United States or the global audience.

<span style="color: black; font-family: "Verdana","sans-serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 150%; mso-bidi-font-family: "Times New Roman"; mso-fareast-font-family: "Times New Roman";">The release of Sina Weibo’s English version will make it the first ever major Chinese social networking website to expand outside the giant country. It is exclusively mentioned that ‘iSteve: The Book of Jobs,’ has given an extraordinary story of both the professional and personal lives of Jobs, by the hand of Isaacson. It is stated that the information has been “drawn from his three years of exclusive and unprecedented interviews Isaacson” along with his family members, key colleagues from Apple and its competitors too.

The price of the book, for pre-orders only, has been set to $16.50 for the physical copy, and $14.99 for the Kindle or iBooks edition. Steve Jobs has always been admired for his successfulness in protecting his private and personal life from his professional and public life. This is a key factor, that an official biography of such a person would be even more interesting. Many aspects of Steve Jobs’s biography have already been made public due to previously written books including Fire in the Valley and The Little Kingdom. It was further boosted by the launch of the iPhone, later in 2007. Furthermore, Jobs’s fight with a disease like cancer, and its impact on his life is an aspect which will be interesting to see in this book.

Related articles

Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs Biography Gets More Serious Title (shoppingblog.com)

As the app description section in the app store states, Kno app is offering customers “the world’s largest selection of over 70,000 titles at 30-50% off the list price.” This 30 to 50 percent discount on the total price of the expenses of text books can mean a lot of money for a college student. The app is enrolled with already a full textbook and PDF reader with full integration. Additionally, the package contains a course manager, which is a feature that will allow the users to easily sort out their textbooks to keep them classified according to their courses and term. Moreover, miscellaneous features like the one-touch text highlighting, annotation capabilities, and the ability to “ask questions, post comments or share your location with study buddies,” are the selling points mentioned regarding the app in the Apple App Store listing.

The app has only be released a short while back, so out of the total 18 reviews it had gotten so far on the App Store, 11 of them gave full five stars rating to the app. Though one of those reviewers also identified that, despite the app was good, it is still a little too slow and laggy.

It was announced, earlier in 2010, that Kno is planning to soon launch its own line of tablets. Along with tracing the users activity on the services, the attackers also made use of such threats which could search the computers of these hacked users associated with those email addresses, for gathering more information regarding the type of software’s being used in their operating system. "Once the attackers know what software is installed on a target's computer, including antivirus products, they can craft a precise attack targeting any vulnerable software," Villeneuve said.
The famous American rapper, considered to be the king of rap, Eminem, has acquired a cease-and-desist order against the German automobile company, Audi. Allegedly Audi has used the rapper’s Oscar winning song tune of ‘Lose Yourself’ illegally without permission, in its recent upcoming advert commercial for the new 2012 Audi A6 Avant model. This is the same tune which was previously contracted with Eminem by Chrysler, for using in the "Imported from Detroit" campaign for the new Chrysler 200 model.

Eminem personally acted in a spot for the campaign, which was first released as a commercial at the Super Bowl, resulting in record breaking audience of 10 million people and above online views. Furthermore, even after using the same song, the actual commercial shaped by Audi also uses somewhat the same similar visuals and idea in the Chrysler spot. In the commercial of Chrysler, Eminem is driving the car across several Detroit's key landmarks, whereas in the commercial designed by Audi, the driver is passing across the key landmarks of Berlin.

Just this past week the publisher of Eminem, Eight Mile Style, has officially filed a lawsuit against the commercial made by Audi in a Hamburg regional court. The company did not only identify the offence, but also demanded compensation in order to meet the damages caused by the act. Though this lawsuit just mentioned the unauthorized use of the song by Audi and not really makes any claim regarding the suspicion of copying the idea or format of Chrysler’s campaign. Still when giving a statement, the spokesman for Eight Mile Style, Joel Martin, said "we believe Audi not only used ‘Lose Yourself’ to sell their product without permission, but their spot actually feels inspired by elements of Chrysler's commercial campaign."

It still remains ambiguous whether Chrysler will be pulling charges to ask legal compensation or not. Eight Mile Style has always been extra protective defender of the copyrights attained by its client, Eminem.
