A British judge has now granted bail to the extremely controversial WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange on this Tuesday evening, although he still yet remains in custody for a possible and pending appeal at hand. The Swedish authorities are now being giving a time gap of two hours to file an appeal. Whereas the lawyer for the Swedish authorities, Gemma Lindfield, gave a discrete affirmation that it was most likely that she would lodge an appeal soon.
Julian Assange was being held in a London prison for now a complete week almost, after surrendering to the Scotland Yard in regards to a Swedish arrest warrant in a sex-crimes investigation. Though he denies any wrongdoing from his side, he and his lawyer are planning to fight the extradition. At the Tuesday's hearing, District Judge Howard Riddle claimed that Assange must be abiding by all the strict bail conditions set. He must always be wearing electronic tags as he is suppose to, and not only just live at a registered residential address but also report to the police every evening observing a scheduled two-to-four hours curfews each day.
Moreover, a sum of around 240,000 pounds ($380,000) was provided as a guarantee by several of his supporters to let this happen, while his next court appearance has been scheduled for January, 11th. His supporters welcoming him right outside the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court exploded in cheers when the news of the judge's ruling reached the area.
