Facebook, the most highlighted company over the past few years, was kept at a place ahead of even companies like Southwest Airlines and Bain & Company, a major management consultants firm, on the list published by Glassdoor, an online website where different users secretly publish valued feedback and observations on their employers. Giving a little insight, the Chief Executive of Glassdoor confirmed that according to his statistical analysis over-all most of the employees seemed most unhappy and disturbed whenever there is a poor communication within a company, whereas on the contrary, he also declared that the most highly rated and well reputed companies have "a very solid and distinct company culture."
Glassdoor had requested all its valued users to literally rate all their workplaces, considering the factors of pay and boss competency while making the decision. Settling at fourth number on the list was General Mills, followed by the public relations firm Edelman which landed in the fifth place.
Among others to make their mark on the top ten list were companies including Boston Consulting, software company SAS Institute, Slalom Consulting, online retailer Overstock.com and Susquehanna International Group, private equity investors. Whereas Glassdoor declared that it held the survey was based on some more than 150,000 employee reviews confidentially submitted during 2010 on all the companies which had 500 plus employees.
