Human Rights Head at United Nations Shows Her 'Concern' On the Pressure Put On Wikileaks

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has expressed her concerns over the reports presented on the matter of government’s pressure on Internet service providers and several other companies to cutting their affiliations and denying any business with the website; WikiLeaks. Evening of this Friday, International Human Rights Day, she explain that difficult questions have been raised in regard of balance of freedom of information; where ‘the right of people to know,’ and ‘the need to protect national security,’ are among key concerns of the matter at hand.

Plenty of very influential service providers of internet mention ably Amazon Web Services and PayPal; have denied any affiliation to the website and have compromised any links or relation with the highle controversial WikiLeaks. Although the authorities at White House have kept themselves from publicizing their reaction to the matter, but it has been several U.S. companies to immediately bring their business with WikiLeaks to an abrupt end. Whereas, it has been revealed that The U.S. Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is to be held liable for making Amazon's web hosting take off the website, as claimed by Joe Lieberman, a U.S. Senator.
However later on, Amazon denied any sort of pressure from the authorities, they claimed that their decision was regardless of any pressure and they stand by their decision. The reason claimed for stopping their business with WikiLeaks is due their violations of their ‘terms of service’ as according to them after being declared illegal, they’re in violation.
