Amazon Retailers Targeted By a Fraud of Fake Receipt Program

Random Amazon retailers are becoming a target by fraudsters and hackers, who have now created a specially personalized program which will successfully generate very look-alike fake receipts for even orders that do not exist at all; this astonishing news was reported by the researchers of GFI Software. Christopher Boyd, their senior threat researcher posted an elaboration at the GFI's blog, he stated that this program has been designed to give birth to a customized HTML file that will be very similar and practically a copy of an actual Amazon.com receipts.

The fake receipt form can steal the typical date, item, price, order number and address among other possible information from you. Users will also have the option of choosing any specific Amazon portals the like, including ".com," ".co.uk," ".fr" and ".ca." As soon as the "generate" button is clicked, a file is placed in the computer's program folder which is completely identical to the original "printable order summary" on a legitimate receipt. Boyd also reviewed that the scam entirely relies on social engineering; with the greedy fraudster in hopes to trick a vendor into thinking that his or her product was sold.
On the brighter side, retailers can stay cautious to protect themselves by sampling keeping an eye on their sales records at Amazon.com, will also be tell the actual story of whether a real sale has even taken place or not, Boyd concluded.
