Google’s Social Project May Be Codenamed As ‘Emerald Sea’

Not long ago, Google confessed that they are delaying the introduction of social networking project, as they failed to meet its original target of launching in 2010, whereas they didn’t even provide any reviewed date to look forward to. Although regardless of the secretiveness and lack of complete announcements, as happens with every big upcoming project, some bits and pieces of the internal procedure and outline of we should expect are leaking out one after another.

Quora, a website which is based on Question & Answering platform, recently had an anonymous user gave details that Google is in the process of testing the social initiative, the user emphasized that the project is referred to as “Emerald City” within the company, as being the codename to keep it secretive. The same source also defended the impact of much anticipated Google’s coming feature, stating that it “will launch as a major initiative across multiple services at once…it is by no means done and is extremely ambitious in nature.”
TechCrunch, the best analyst of social networks on the web, had a few inside sources at Google, who affirmed the statement, claimed at the Quora website saying that the codename of the project within the company is “Emerald Sea.” Aside from title name of the project, if we assume that everything heard and said about the upcoming social network from Google is correct, we should no longer be looking for a stand-alone website to be addicted to. Instead, the rumors explain the Google project to incorporating all major social elements of a social network into its current features.
