Google is now in attempt to launch its already overdue online bookstore in this December after all, however, It is now claimed that it will no more be called Google Editions, as reported by the Wall Street Journal in their Nov. 30th Edition. Everyone is waiting for an online bookstore of such a giant company as ‘Google,’ and such service is obviously be competing with similar services rivals such as Amazon’s Kindle, Apple’s iBook and Barnes & Noble. However, while announcing, the spokesperson refused to comment about the new title for this service and what exactly will be the launch details. Alough, Scott Dougall, the Google Product Management Director, as informed Journal that the the e-book service is expected to launch in the U.S. by the end of the year and maybe earlier next week it continues internationally.
Google has collaborated with the American Booksellers Association (ABA), and have huge plans to make Google's service the main source of e-books, dominating the other Websites of hundreds of independent booksellers around the country. Further, the Journal reported that Google has apparently signed deals with numerous major book publishers, and expected to have a huge launch with around over hundreds of thousands titles and millions of books free to purchase and download directly.
Any Google user will be able to buy books online using Google's Checkout system and then add them to an online library also personalized with your a Google account. It is yet uncertain about what amount of the revenue is Google planning to split with its raft of independent bookstores and other retailer partners. It is widely assumed, however, that Google will pay the publishers around 63 percent of revenues and keep 37 percent for itself, where it sold e-books directly to consumers.
