Christina Aguilera explains that she is very well aware about her misconduct at the Sunday's Super Bowl XLV opening ceremony while singing the National Anthem. Singing live at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the 30-year-old singer, made a mistake in the lyrics while she sang "what so proudly we watched" when the correct lyrics to be sung were, "o'er the ramparts we watched."
Afterwards Aguilera spoke openly about the mishap which took place, she gave a statement to clarify that "I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place." She then gave an apologetic note claiming that "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
Before the actual performance on the ceremony, the singer made a claim that she was extremely thrilled to be chosen to sing the patriotic national anthem before millions of viewers at the stadium and watching elsewhere!
