This year Amazon.com is giving the offer to all its customers at kindle store to be able to give e-books as gifts to others, this is intended to increase holiday sales of the season. The function of such tool for sending these digital books as gifts was added and made public this Friday.
Method to send E-Book as gifts is extremely uncomplicated, user just has to simple click the button with the title of "Give as a Gift", once selected the book to be gifted, and then specify the recipients' e-mail address. Immediately Amazon will notify the recipient via an e-mail about the gift, and information of the send, with the link for the downloading.The E-Book gifting procedure is irrelevant of whether or not the recipient has Kindle, Amazon.com's popular E-Reader, as the gifted e-books can be viewed at any device regardless of anything, until only the Kindle application installed on that particular device. And luckily Kindle app is now widely available for various device, included the mostly used Apple iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone as well. While making the announcement, VIP of Amazon Kindle, Russ Grandinetti stated:"We're making this functionality available in time for the holidays to offer an easy, stress-free holiday shopping option for anyone -- not just Kindle owners.”
This is the first time that Amazon.com is introducing E-Book gifting offer. Perhaps, it is related to the announcement by Amazon.com stating that latest generation of Kindle, released in June, is the fastest-selling Kindle to date, until late October,. Moreover, the retailers also reported that unit sales of digital books in past 30 days exceeded that of hardcover and paperback books even combined for all top 1,000 bestselling books on the site together. Which proved the huge success of Amazon.com itself.
It was analyzed by The Association of American Publishers that the tardyon e-book reading grew 193% during the first eight months of this year, based on the overall sales.
