Sources confirm that thanks to the new acquisition, the game
will now be ported to a completely different technology that will enable a multi-platform
support with a cross-platform multiplayer system facilitated by Slitherine's
new tournaments system launched last month. In addition to that, the game will
also feature a re-designed AI for both Axis and Allies sides, and a new PC-like
save feature that offers more slots per battle.
Many gamers are glad to hear the announcement since Battle
of the Bulge was much liked due to its multiplayer experience. However, since
now the focus has been shifted to Slitherine's cross-platform support and compatibility
with tournaments, the multiplayer aspect of the new version might not be as
good as before. Hopefully, the game will not lose the smoothness it had in its original
multiplayer mode. Let’s hope to find out soon.
The company failed to mention whether the renewed version of
the game would be an update to the original version or a new purchase. I guess
we’ll have to see when it is actually relaunched.
