Activision Blizzard will be soon releasing the next version of its "Call of Duty" game series, not only for gaming consoles but also on its ambitious digital platform before the end of this year, declared the C.E.O. of Activision Publishing, Eric Hirshberg, while he was addressing a company’s conference call this Monday. He referred to the "Call of Duty" franchise, one of its two "significant investments" that Activision has made so far, which will also let expand the company's largest marketing campaign too, added the C.E.O of Activision Blizzard, Bobby Kotick, on the same call
Kotick stated that "This year's 'Call of Duty' initiatives will result in the best 'Call of Duty' experiences we have created to date," not only is the company adding plenty paid features to put together with the platform, he further claimed that "You will see a lot of new services and capabilities that will be provided free of charge to all of our customers."

Hirshber than contributed to the conversation saying that "Call of Duty" online service, is in the development phase from almost two years under the codename of Project Beachhead. He then also informed that the company had a separate dedicated group, also called Beachhead, just for focusing their full attention with devotion to this high-scale project. Activision is expected to go public with the news reporters in San Francisco about this project under nondisclosure agreements, whereas the company prepares a formal announcement of this project in the coming weeks. Whereas, even more elaborated information of this project are suspected to be released in the Electronic Entertainment Expo, taking place in June, 2011.
Activision has kept the trend of adding a new game to the franchise every year since 2005. The latest addition made last year was called the "Call of Duty: Black Ops," which became highly famous and top-selling game in not only the U.S. but also in Europe in just the three months time period.

Activision is likely to release a download package for the "Black Ops" in the next three months, till than it "Hopes that the situation will be resolved," said Hirshberg.
The new game of this year is rumored to be titled as "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" which will be released in November, as cited in a report of the Los Angeles Times, speaking about which, Hirshberg also mentioned in the call, that "The game has exceeded every internal milestone."
