Kobo Wireless eReaders Jumps In the U.S. Market, With the Mothers’ Day Promotional Price of Only $99

The rivalry within the eReader’s market is growing as every company boasts about the about their eReader gadget to be more of an entire functional tablet computers. Some companies even go a step ahead and related their eReader’s with the Apple’s iPad. While other companies compete on that ground, Kobo has found itself a complete new strategy to conquer the eReader’s market and win the hearts of all consumers: price. Kobo very recently announced that its new version of Onyx, newest Kobo Wireless eReader will be made available at all Best Buy stores within the United States. Moreover it declared that this release is specially timed on the Mothers’ Day, giving an exceptional promotional price of $99. He mentioned that customers will also be able to avail this promotional pricing from their homes, through Best Buy’s Web site too.

According to the V.P. of business development at Kobo, Todd Humphrey, he claimed that “We’ve seen great success working with Best Buy in Canada and look forward to being available in-store in the U.S. with the Mother’s Day special.” He went on saying that “Having Kobo’s Wireless eReader in Best Buy stores throughout the United States and online provides the eReading public with more purchasing options and allows shoppers to compare our eReader to the competition to see the value and versatility we bring to the table.”
This particular model of Kobo Wireless eReader, being released in U.S., is a 6-inch E-Ink display, having 16 levels of grey 802.11b/g, along with Wi-Fi facility for using internet to buy and download new content directly for the device. The eReader will be sold with 100 free classic books which will be pre-installed and holds the built-in capacity of holding roughly 1,000 eBooks. Additionally with option of SD memory card, the capacity can be further increased up to 8,000 books. The eReader has enough battery power to run for 20 week straight or load almost 10,000 pages, as the users can browse the Kobo store easily. Furthermore, Kobo’s eReader has the file supports for all major formats including ePUB, PDF, and Adobe DRM. This Kobo eReader is only a small part of the larger Kobo ecosystem, which includes apps for desktop computers and mobile devices too.
After the Mothers’ Day promotional package, the normal prices of Kobo Wireless eReader will be practiced all over U.S., i.e. $129.99.
