RIM Puts Up a Competing Bid against Google for the Nortel Wireless Patents

Recently, the company, Research In Motion (RIM) has tried to beat the bid of the search-engine giant Google Inc, which posted the price of a total $900 million to buy the patents of Nortel Networks Corp. These patents include not only wireless technology but also wired technology patents, as informed by a story of Bloomberg, which claims to have brought this information from to unique sources very close to the situation.

Google has intentions to become a "stalking horse" far all these patents and hence put up an unbeatable price of a $900 million bid in the early days of this month. Google is hoping to acquire these patents of Nortel as it rightly believes that they will be very beneficial in the competition of growing wireless patent wars, which it has to face one way or the other, with the rival mobile superpowers. Till now, Google has been very successful in putting up its easy-to-use Android mobile phone software as one of the top most wireless technology of the year.
The interest of all the companies in these patents, which belong to Nortel has been very energetic, consequently only negotiations regarding any deal have been seen but no actual agreement signing has taken place. The liquidators of Nortel are believed to be intentionally delaying the process as they see the potential buyers bargaining more and more over the price.
According to elite analysts of the current market, they have predicted that these patents are very precious for any company and according to them plenty other companies would be prepares to give reasonable price in bid. It is being expected that among the other companies, which will be very much interested, include; Chinese telecom network company ZTE, Ericsson and RPX. It is quite noticeable here, that Ericsson has already purchased most the wireless operations of Nortel since its liquidation and RPX has been itself licensing the patents on behalf of its member clients completely fee.
