It is already being greatly presumed as more and more cell phones with latest and advanced cameras are declining the sales and reason for any extra point-and-shoot cameras. Now Flickr has disclosed that iPhone 4 will soon be makings its way to turn out to be the most popular camera by the huge photo-sharer’s of Flickr community.
According to the statistics of Flickr, the trend is shown in the form of a graph, which indicates about the most or least popular cameras being used in the Flickr community. The dSLR camera model of Nikon, D90, is currently leading the charts of not only Flickr, but it also enjoys the lead role in the statistics of PCWorld's charts as well. But now the new trend, which shows the steeply growing popularity of iPhone 4, moreover it is being predicted that, considering the speed of rise of the graph, iPhone 4 might even take over Nikon D90. Analysts have predicted this time to be not far, and maybe in the very next month even.

The Flickr graph specifically shows the "number of Flickr members who have uploaded at least one thing with a particular camera on a given day" and the data is accumulated of almost a complete year. Moreover, the graphs are later even "normalized," taking into consideration any Flickr account which is new members, hence this data represented in graphs output a very reliable calculation of how popular certain cameras are, in comparison with other few cameras being used in the community.
It has also been noticed by the analysts that variability, if any, in the Flickr graphs would only under-represent the smartphone’s data, as they declare that these graphs are calculated by the automatic data collection of Flickr's software to detect from which camera was each picture uploaded, and they claim that this "not usually possible with cameraphones” every time.

This is not exactly the first a mobile model has taken over the lead to be the most popular camera source of Flickr. It has happened previously in August 2009, when the iPhone (all models) beat the Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi to become the most popular picture source on Flickr community.
Flickr also elaborates its statistical data in representing that these graphs also precisely indicate the use of each model of a particular camera brand. So when looked into the top 5 Apple cameras in this Flickr community data, it was seen that the performance of the iPad 2 was not as expected.
On the contrary, a famous technology blogging website TechCrunch, had previously predicted that Apple will perhaps be the "least popular" of camera brands on Flickr. They claimed the justification to their reason as to Apple only having four models, while other big names like Nikon etc. having a long product range. But now the blogsite has reported said “it looks like Flickr users are proving me wrong!”
