According to the researchers hosting the French blog, Consomac, they have found a suspicious filed project in the latest developer preview of Mac OS X Lion, which is titled as ‘Castle.’ The researchers imply that Castle is just a code name retained for Apple's much-rumored iCloud service, and they have now found evidence of that service coming in the next version of Mac OS X Lion.
Both the researchers have published a long blog post stating that they were in pursuit of finding traces of either of the services in the new Mac OS X Lion; My Mac, iCloud, and MobileMe. It was under this investigation, they claim, that they stumbled upon another service which was titled as "Castle." Owing to their investigation skills, they also asserted that they were also able to track the strings which let the option of "Complete your Castle upgrade" appear. To further support their suspicions, they also mentioned that the next dialogue box asked them to "Click OK to open System Preferences and complete your upgrade from MobileMe to Castle."

The researchers went on in their blog post, declaring that it was now safe to assume that "Castle" is just a temporary undercover codename of the upcoming service, iCloud, which will be revealed publicly. They also made the reference towards the large numbers of rumors indicated that Apple has already purchased the domain name of ‘iCloud.com’ at the price of $4.5 million. These are old rumors, which state that this domain was purchased from a Swedish Webtop and online file storage service, which is now being renamed to ‘CloudMe.’ The researchers than made their case, raising the question that why would Apple Inc. buy such an expensive  domain name, if they weren’t really up to something for it?
The relation of this codenamed service with MobileMe also has indicated that "Castle" is actually more of a codename for Apple's upcoming online music service. The researchers than placed their prediction that they suspect this new service will not only store music, but will be a complete cloud-based storage solution for photos, contacts, files, including all other forms of digital stuff. Their theory was even backed up with facts like when the quoted, MobileMe was Apple’s current retailing package and it has now just recently pulled off Apple's online store. As a result now MobileMe is allegedly marked for "end of life."
In the end the researchers wrote that it will be really interesting to see that their findings of "Castle" and iCloud were correct or not, as there only a month or so left until both new iOS and OS X will be staged at next WWDC.
