Google Also Releases Its 'Check-In' Deals for the Mobile Users

Google Latitude has enhanced its software for mobile users having iPhones or Android-powered smartphones as it adds the ‘check-in’ services to its software. Users cheking-in more often at particular places get rewarded by the loyalty to shops or restaurants why they have visited more frequently.
Google implemented this new feature for all its United States completely on Thursday. It will allow the users to unlock discounts packages by continuously signing in with their location-tracking Latitude app in their mobile for checking-in at different places. According to the blog of Google Maps software engineer, Douglas Graham, he says that "Checking in lets you share the places that you visit and add context to your Latitude location for friends and family." Moreover he further explained the benefits that, "At the same time, you can keep a history of where you've been while gaining status at the places you visit the most."

The initial partners of Google in this project are all the clothing stores destinations of American Eagle Outfitters, along with the electronics shops of RadioShack, and fast-food chains of Quiznos and Arby's. Users after checking-in to these places more and more with better deals will improve their status as to make the experience better, firstly promoting from "Regular" to "VIP" status, those who will adopt this feature maximum will be the "Guru" of that particular destination.
The managers of the places which are involved with Latitude check-ins also have the service of generate their own personalized ranks for their more valued customers, like Quiznos has made a new rank titled "Champion of Taste."
Facebook launched their Places and Deals applications last year, by which Facebook users were able to use their mobile phones for sharing their location on the Facebook wall, where more check-ins won more rewarded with notifications regarding deals at nearby shops or restaurants. Now Google has introduced its similar feature since February, and now will face great competition from these already-established websites which already offer the location-based services like Facebook, Foursquare and Gowalla.
