Pawlenty Posts a Video on Facebook for Announcing His Presidential Exploratory Committee

Tim Pawlently

The Former Governor of Minnesota, Tim Pawlenty has indicated his future interests today as he intends for a presidential run in the coming elections. Pawlenty has definitely at least declared himself as a potential candidates as he video posted on his Facebook page recently, which explains him setting up a presidential exploratory committee. He claimed that the committee will give him the opportunity to begin raising money for a properly organized presidential race in future, even though he is technically not yet even close to being a formal candidate.
This well produced video was shot in St. Paul, Minn., where Pawlenty appeared well-dressed in front of paparazzi and handshaking people while he was even seen skating on an ice rink at a point as well. He said in the video “There is a brighter future for America,” when simultaneously a load patriotic music starts and he continues saying “We know what we need to do: grow jobs, limit government spending, and tackle entitlements.” He then made a grand announcement declaring that “Today, I’m announcing the formation of an exploratory committee to run for president of the United States.” Lastly before ending the video shows fireworks going off, while he makes an appeal saying viewers to “Join the team, and together we’ll restore America.”
This decision to make such announcement through Facebook rather than the typical formal style press conference conveys a message as well, mainly on what impression he wants to give for major political news. Pawlenty even posted an update at a later time, quoting: “Be sure to visit my Facebook page today at 3 p.m. ET for a special message exclusive to Facebook supporters.” Whereas an exact similar message was tweeted too, this definitely indicates his inclination towards such audience in his probable future campaign.
