HTC Releases another Promotional Video of New Android-Based Tablet with a Stylus Pen

HTC has just recently released another promotional video for their upcoming Android tablet, the name of the tablet still remain ambiguous as its both rumored to be either ‘Flyer’ or ‘Evo View 4G’ as it is scheduled to reach the markets this sometime summer.
In the increasingly competitive and highly growing market of tablets, the specifications and features of HTC’s tablet are notable but they still cannot be considered out of the ordinary. With its 7-inch display of a  1024-by-600 resolution, the 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor adds up with 1GB of RAM. As for the memory space, the devices come with 32GB of internal memory along with external microSD card slot. Moreover, it has dual cameras with 5 MP camera for rear and 1.3 MP camera in front.

While these specification can be seen as enough but they are definitely not enough when competing against devices like Apple’s iPad 2 in the local market. However, the unique feature of this HTC’s Tablet is the pen-input. Agreeably, the tablets featuring with a stylus or pen were tried back in the days by companies like Microsoft and others but they were an epic fail.
But irrespective of the history of such devices HTC is apparently determined to try its luck in today’s market, which has been hugely influenced by iPad 2. On the plus side, PCWorld's Mark Sullivan had a little preview of this upcoming device while he was in Barcelona at the Mobile World Congress this February. According to his opinion and review this new tablet device of HTC does not really requires the pen to actually function but it is just an additional feature which allows few pen-based tricks.
He said “Don't worry, you don't need [a stylus] to operate the device. The pen is used mainly in the Notes app: you can draw out ideas whiteboard style-and talk while you're doing it-and the app records everything that happens.”
Keeping the positive feeling, the actual promo video of HTC also portrays that the pen implementation on the tablet devices keeps it very smooth. The uses of like signing contracts with a stylus will add a complete new look to the functionality of today's tablets. Whereas, if implied correctly, the stylus pen might even just revolutionize how drawing and photo-editing tasks can be performed on a tablet device. It will be interesting to witness whether or not HTC is able to achieve its aimed efficiency for the pen-based tablet devices, whether or not they make a mark in today’s crowded tablet market.
