Facebook Sued For $1 Billion Against ‘Infitada Page’ Removal

Famous has been sued for a lawsuit which demands above $1 billion against the damages which were caused due to a Facebook fan page on the website titled "Third Intifada" against Israel. Facebook has very recently taken down the fan page. It had gathered a total of 500,000 fans. Regardless of the fanpage being removed, the lawsuit filed in the court implies that Facebook has shown unnecessary "negligence" for not having to remove such pages immediately once they are appealed to be removed.

More than only compensating for the alleged damages caused, the filing goes on and demands to court to bar Facebook "from allowing the Facebook page titled 'Third Palestinian Intifada,' and other related and similar sites, which advocate violence and death to Jews."

Controversial enough as this lawsuit is, the blogging website TechCrunch has landed to have gotten a copy of the actual filing of this lawsuit. This complained was filed in DC Superior Court by Larry Klayman, who has explained himself as "an American citizen of Jewish origin" who is "active in matters concerning the security of Israel and all people" in the official document of the complaint. Klayman has also mentions his own created website Freedom Watch, and describes it as a political advocacy group devoted for the protection of privacy, free speech and other rights and "our national sovereignty against the incompetent, terrorist state-controlled United Nations."
Facebook has commented on this case and alleged for it to be "without merit" and also confirmed that it will definitely fight such allegations. A Facebook represented said that "While we haven't been served with a complaint, we believe the case is without merit and we will fight it vigorously.”
Facebook removed the page specifically on Tuesday because it has already received a personal letter from Yuli Edelstein, Israeli Public Diplomacy Minister, just a few days before addressed to Zuckerberg begging him to have the fan page removed. Whereas, Facebook asserted that it had at first put up with such fan page because it "began as a call for peaceful protest" though however when it later started to directly calling for violence than the page was removed inevitably as it was in violation of Facebook's policies.
