Canadian Blackberry Manufacturer, RIM, Announces It Cannot Share Encryption Keys With UAE Authorities

‘Research in Motion’ (RIM) the renowned manufacturers of Canadian BlackBerry made an announce this Tuesday stating that they cannot share their encryption keys for the mobile phones with any UAE authorities because the technology used to secure phones won’t allow it. This announcement was made through Gulf News after several media reports both home and abroad suggested that on Monday RIM had already given authorities the keys to decode BlackBerry content of consumers.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that BlackBerry phones are definitely among the highly popular mobiles phones in the international business communities as well as the government communities largely because of its uniqueness for its high-security technology. Each BlackBerry phone is designed with its own independent and complete unique encryption codes to prevent breaches, RIM informed Gulf News.
In another statement, RIM explained their stance at the matter at hand, they said RIM has made “no changes to the security architecture for BlackBerry Enterprise Server customers since, contrary to any rumours, the security architecture is the same around the world and RIM truly has no ability to provide its customers’ encryption keys.”
