Samsung Galaxy Tab Completes Their Milestone by Selling 1Million Tablets Worldwide

Samsung has just declared that it has completed a milestone in selling more than 1 million Galaxy Tab tablet computers worldwide, which is well known as Apple iPad rival device. It is a noticeably increase for a product that only shipped around 600,000 units only two weeks ago before the Thanksgiving holiday rush. Kim Titus, the spokesperson for Samsung confirmed that the milestone has been reached, to eWEEK Dec. 3, but he denied disclosing any further details about where sales of the Galaxy Tab proved the highest sale rate. This accomplishment of selling these Android 2.2-based devices was achieved in two months.

On the contrary, Apple had started its market for iPad in April and has a very firm head start. Apple shipped 1 million iPads in less than one month from April to May, in comparison with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. It also completed a quick selling of 4.19 million units in the company's fourth quarter, ending Oct. 19.
eWEEK magazine, tested the Tab from Verizon Wireless, which was purchased for $599 without contract, and explained the experience to be an enjoyable one, and they also mentioned that the experience was much different from the iPad.
Although the iPad has kept a share of almost 90 percent of entire market to date, IMS Research have kept a strong expectation that in 2011, the Android tablets will also grow their share up to at least 15 percent of the worldwide market, substituting, offcourse the market of their rivals, Apple's iPad. They claim that this change is expected as similar to the way Android smartphones gained an edge on the Apple's popular iPhone previously.
