Disney Files Lawsuit against Dish Network for Giving Free Offer to Subscribers of Starz Channel

Walt Disney Co has recently reported a copyright infringement lawsuit against the Dish Network Corp for displaying its most popular movies like "Toy Story 3" and "Alice in Wonderland" on a ‘free tier’ for all its Dish subscribers. Disk Network Corp. is one of the biggest satellite television operators in the United States.

Previously Disney has undoubtedly released plenty of its hit movies top its cable and satellite viewers, through their long-term agreements with Liberty Media Corp's Starz channel. Starz Channel is the most premium network channel of Liberty Media Corp., Just like HBO is of Time Warner Inc or Showtime is for CBS Corp.

After the reports of the first vicious data theft faced by Sony Corp. which after a long silence was told to be as big as the data of 77million accounts one the Sony PlayStation Network. Just again recently, on Monday, Sony Corp. has again announced that additional 24.6 million accounts are also to be added to that already huge number. With such unacceptably large number of accounts compromised and detailed information about them leaked, it is highly arguable that if there are even any accounts left with Sony to be hacked yet.

ABI Studies: Most Laptop Users Still Prefer USB Modems over Other Connection Methods Even Today

This Monday, a report of survey and calculations of the research firm ABI stated that that the Mobile data users are currently more inclined towards using the USB modems for keeping their mobile devices connected to the internet. However, it has predicted that in near future, like five years or so, majority of the users will be more into using the built-in cellular radios or portable Wi-Fi hotspots.

It quoted that even though the market of connected tablets, along with the availability of devices with built-in high-speed cellular modules is ever increasing, still in comparison the worldwide shipments of USB modems has yet remained way more than the embedded 3G and 4G modules. It was mentioned that the ratio is as steep as three to one, and ABI predicted that until 2016, this ratio will be almost neutralized.

AT&T Sets Upper Data Transfer Limits for Its Broadband Subscribers, Only Aimed To Dodge the Download-Hungry Subscribers

The good day of unlimited internet usage will finally come to an end today, for those who were the most generous web-users and never thought about the data the pull on, might have to rethink. Today is the day that AT&T has previously announced, when it will implement its data caps for all the U-verse and DSL broadband subscribers. Each will now be charged separately on a disclosed tariff, once they have surpassed their pre-set monthly data limits. The data limits were designed and announced to be implemented now, since in March, hence all AT&T broadband customers shall be very vigilant from today onwards there internet is not completely free.

South Korean Police Dep. Suddenly Searches the Offices of Google in Seoul Questioning Their Method of Data Collection

South Korean police launched another raid at the global internet gain company, Google on Tuesday. The local offices of the company were subjected to an investigation launched by the cyber crime wing of the police department; they were in search of any evidence in favor of the allegations regarding Google using its mobile phone advertising platform, ‘AdMob’ to secretly collect private data of its customers illegally.

The police searched the office of Google located in Seoul, and confiscated several hard drives and along with other computer data, which it considered helpful in the investigation. According to the spokesperson of the crime unit in the police department, he informed AFP, that all the confiscated material is directly related to its questioned "AdMob" platform only, and no further damage was done during the raid.
