The Guinness Book of World Records has honored the not only Apple’s iPhone 4 but also several gaming apps in its App Store and recording their out of the ordinary performance and success. iPhone 4 has been credited as the fastest-growing gaming system of the world, along with several other record breaking gaming apps and App Store itself have set records too.
Considering the record of iPhone 4 to be the fastest-growing gaming system of the world, this titled was presented to iPhone on considering its exceptional 1.5 million sales on the first launch day, which is a very huge number even in comparison with other gaming systems. Guinness compared its unparallel success, mentioning that Sony’s PSP (PlayStation Portable) sold just 200,000 units on its day one, whereas it was not until a complete week sales that Nintendo DS had sold 500,000 consoles. Gaz Deaves. The gaming editor for Guinness' notified that "The release of the iPhone has not just changed the mobile industry, but the video game world too."

In case of Apple's App Store record, it has been honored the title of the world’s largest downloadable video game store as it currently holds more than 37,362 app available with vast variety than any other store. Competing Apple’s App Store with its chief rival Android Market was not possible since the figures were not provided by Guinness, still it will be safe to assume that Apple App Store has a lead there as well. Comparing App Store with other gaming markets, like Xbox Live Arcade and Wii's Virtual Console service, was very easy as they only had around 1300 at 576 games each.
Furthermore, Angry Birds, was credited with the title of being the "Top Paid-For App Store Game in Most Countries." The number of countries in which Angry Birds remained top paid seller, is 67 countries as asserted by the statistical data of the App Store, accumulating up to an approximate 6.5 million paid downloads in total.
The smaller records of some other iOS games announced at the same time included the app ‘Tap Tap Revenge’ for being the most popular App of the App Store with an overall history of 15 million downloads. On the other hand, ‘Plants vs. Zombies’ collected two records; not only the highest grossing launch with $1 million in revenue collected in just initial nine days by the developer, PopCap, hence also being the fastest selling app with over 300,000 downloads in the same nine days.
