It has been the sixth day since the PlayStation Network has been kept
offline; Sony claims to be putting all hands on the deck in order to rebuild the service which connects the PlayStation 3 (PS3) and other console games like PSP, to online gaming, films, and other digital offerings by Sony. PlayStation Network was suspended along with the Qriocity streaming music abruptly on the 20th of April, 2011 as the company explained that it has faced an "external intrusion."
Patrick Seybold, the spokesperson for Sony wrote in his blog post at the time of suspension of the service that "I know you are waiting for additional information on when PlayStation Network and Qriocity services will be online.” He went on asserting that "Unfortunately, I don't have an update or timeframe to share at this point in time."

It was Seybold who declared that Sony has to actually cut the connections to PlayStation Network and Qriocity, due the investigation of an external breach and then later announced that it will be prolonged to strengthen its defenses as well. After few days, realizing the anxiousness of the players, he posted that "We are working around the clock to bring them both back online.” His last post made so far, as that “Our efforts to resolve this matter involve re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure."
Whereas, the players addicted to Sony’s gaming console are only able to play the games offline since then, as they have completely lost the ability of challenging their friends and other players through the Internet for Online-Gaming, and stream movies or get any other kind of other services offered.
According to a comment added to the official posts of the Sony spokesperson, a username 'bigdaddykraven' wrote: "Well, I hope the rebuilding of your network also helps make certain things on the PSN quicker." Whereas another user also commented: "First and foremost though, just do what is needed to get secure and get the system up and running."
Sony has not yet recognized any source of the external intrusion hence are unable to point at a culprit which makes it even more mysterious. An Internet vigilante group, which calls itself Anonymous, challenged publically that it will take revenge for Sony, for their legal actions against hackers who cracked PS3 defenses. The hackers made the gaming console so vulnerable that it seemed like operating software.  Anonymous have always been asserting that PS3 console owners do have the complete authority, according to them, for using the console in as much dept as they wish, even if they are modifying them.
