Diane Lane has been selected to be playing the role of Clark Kent's mother in next Superman movie. This casting is generally being considered very young and naïve choice comparing with the casting of like Eva Marie Saint in the 2006 Man of Steel film. 46-year-old Diane Lane, will be co-starring other actors Henry Cavill, whose just 27, in this untitled project of Warner Bros.
This project is believed to be releasing in late December of 2012, whereas it picks up the story with the same scenario and background which is adopted in every superman franchise. Martha and Jonathan Kent adopt a young Clark Kent who arrives on the planet Earth in a rocket from the planet Krypton. Though the casting for the role of Jonathan Kent has not yet been decided or announced.
Giving a look at Diane Lane’s portfolio, she has impressively worked with some great theaters performances like the drama "Secretariat," last year along with her starring in the HBO’s feature "Cinema Verite.” She also has once been nominated for an Oscar for her performance in a drama titled "Unfaithful."
