Just in case Janelle Monae is not able to grab a Grammy Award on this Sunday afternoon, she will still not be going home empty handed as she is already announced to have won another separate award.The performer is already accredited an award by the Essence magazine later on Wednesday night, when the magazine's second-annual "Black Women in Music" pre-Grammy event was taking place. Other celebrity performers present at the event included Diddy and rapper Big Boi, who also performed with her at the event as well.
Monae was lauded both the title of "a girl from Kansas" as well. Whereas she is actually nominated for the award category of best contemporary R&B album for her debut CD, "The ArchAndroid" along with the category of best urban/alternative performance for "Tightrope" with Big Boi.
