#EntertainmentNews: Viacom Introduces another Top Post for Its International Unit


Viacom Inc has made the importance of its international properties prominent and noteworthy by appointing new and first ever president and chief executive of Viacom International Media Networks.
The company itself is home to the cable networks like MTV and the movie studio Paramount Pictures reported this Wednesday that they are appointing Robert Bakish to the designation for its first time. So Bakish would now be entrusted to keep all the international media properties of the company, which also include the MTV and BET Networks, along with some other branches of Paramount branded networks in overall 160 countries. And he will be reporting his duty/efforts to the Viacom Chief Executive Philippe Dauman.

Bakish, initially joined Viacom somewhere around 1997 and was very recently titled as the president of MTV Networks International. He will now be prolonging his services as chairman of Viacom 18, the company's joint venture in India, and as a member of the boards of Viacom's joint ventures with British Sky Broadcasting Group Plc, or BSkyB, and Telecom Italia Media SpA.
