Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch Plot 'iNewspaper' Launch For iPads Only

According to the US media reports, Rupert Murdoch and Steve Jobs, first being the tycoon from News Corp and later being the popular CEO of Apple Inc. are planning to collaboratively introduce a whole new digital "newspaper" called the Daily, It has been reported kept under cover as the deals are yet under discussions in New York for past several months, and now it is promised to be complete till around the end of this month.

Reports say there will only a central innovation, designed with aid from Apple engineers, only allowed to be post the publication exclusively to an iPad or maybe few similar devices. And there will be no flexibility of any “print edition or web edition" at all, which also reduces their printing or distribution cost as well. US-focused Daily is expected to be retailed at the cost of 99 cents (62p) a week.

The idea is said to be inspired by Murdoch, now 79-year-old, as he learned through a survey that mostly readers prefer spending time reading their iPads rather than surfing the bulk of internet. Murdoch has very high expectations from this launch of his newspaper Daily, as he has predicts that almost 40 million iPads will be surfacing till late 2011. Once inquired, a source reported: "He envisions a world in which every family has a iPad in the home and it becomes the device from which they get their news and information. If only 5% of those 40 million subscribe to theDaily, that's already two million customers."
However, it is noticeable that other giants in the field like ‘The Times’ has recently claimed to gain more than one lack active customers, only for its web edition, whereas the Wall Street Journal reportedly has around couple million readers as well. So Murdoch’s high dreams are not so easy to be achieved. On the other hand, Apple will announce a subscription plan for newspapers similar to that of iTunes music download service.
With the help of Apple’s dominance in the tablet market, Murdoch’s best option is to collaborate with Jobs. And it is also been said that Jobs himself is "a major fan" of the newsprint patriarch, to the extent that they say "When the project is announced, don't be surprised if you see Steve Jobs onstage with Rupert Murdoch, welcoming the Daily to the app world."
