Phrases Beats Farmville for the Throne of ‘Top Facebook App’

FarmVille has now apparently stepped down from its  throne, as its as the app with maximum active users on Facebook, has been over take by another app called Phrases, which is an app developed by Takeoff Monkey.

Phrases is an application which lets the users to select from a wide variety of content to their walls, the list usually includes items like quotes, pictures, and quizzes. Whereas, on the other hand, FarmVille has slightly laid down after remaining at the peak for a long while, with once having almost 84 million monthly users. But the key factor to understand in this analysis is to keep in mind that Phrases has only managed to barely eclipse FarmVille, as it ground around 54.4 million monthly average users. FarmVille number is of about 53.9 million monthly players, which is just around the corner.

Another factor to be recognized in this matter is, despite the throne has shifter, FarmVille is somewhat still the top dog, as in the daily average users its 16 million users, are still more than any other social games on Facebook. Anyway it’s still question whether Phrases will be able to retain its overall top spot, as the app has suddenly been disabled for all the U.S. users without any explanation, which will obviously lead towards adversity. As already, since the suspension, the daily average users of the app has now predictably reduced to even less than 3 million users, which will definitely be a sign of loss in monthly data down the road. Hence, it’s perfectly logical to say, that looking at the monthly average users (MAU) can be deceiving in this particular case.  

However, sticking to the throne is not much of a deal for the FarmVille developer Zynga, it already has more impressive portfolio of popular games than any other developing company at Facebook. In the list of Top 10 Games of facebook, half are proudly developed by Zynga itself; including some hugely popular are Texas HoldEm Poker, FrontierVille, Maria Wars, and Café World. It is also planning to launch another new game of the same scale, called CityVille, as published earlier in the blog as well.
