Motorola Files Patent Suit Against Microsoft

Motorola has accused Microsoft by stating that the patents used for updating Windows OS, digital video coding, Messenger and Outlook, email technology and others are owned by Motorola. It was also stated that the patents of Motorola were taken advantage of while designing the Windows mobile software, specifically the ones concerning Bing maps and Windows Marketplace.
Microsoft has once again been dragged to court in a suit filed with the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and the Western District of Wisconsin. The lawsuit is filed by Motorola Mobility. They have accused Microsoft for contravention of sixteen different patents. These patents also include Microsoft's PC and Server software, Windows mobile software and Xbox products.

Microsoft is demanded to quit using the technology from Motorola's patents and provide compensation for Microsoft's past violation of Motorola Mobility’s patents.
According to buzzbox.com, Motorolas recently accused by Microsoft over patents on the subject of Android features including calendars and contacts, scheduling meetings, synchronizing email, notifying applications of changes in signal strength and battery power.
