Key Person Of International Hacker Gang Jailed After Confessing Horrible Cyber Crimes

Mathew Anderson

33 year old Matthew Anderson, from Keith, Banffshire, Scotland, is affiliated with one of the international gangs, who abuse their talent as a computer security expert and target different businesses or individuals with spam containing hidden viruses leading to, sometimes incurable loss for the victims. Mr. Anderson was jailed today, sentenced to 18 months captivity, after being charged for illegally taking control of his victims' webcams.

He was accused in court, for gaining access to decidedly very personal data and photographs via sending a very complicated email, intentionally for scamming, from his mother's front room. After gaining full access over the victim's webcams, he controlled it remotely to see inside of their homes, and sometimes saved this data on his own computer. Upon investigating this data included victim’s webcam images, sometimes of a girl in school uniform or a family photograph of a mother and her newborn baby in hospital, and even up to intimate pictures of sexual nature as well.
Judge Geoffrey Rivlin QC seemed greatly disturbed on this particular case, which took place in Southwark crown court in central London. Anderson admittedly confessed his offence under the Computer Misuse Act, though while sentencing the victim, the judged claimed that Anderson's offending was on an "almost unimaginable scale". Later, after the session he added to his remarks, saying "Whilst you may not have been engaged in fraud, it is fair to say that in an age in which computers play such an important part in the lives of so many people and businesses, an offence of this nature inevitably raises great concern and consternation."
However, Anderson was also charged for saving other victim’s CVs, wills and confidential medical reports. Judge Rivlin exclaimed that, if Anderson had also confessed or found guilty in this charge, he must have been facing twice the jail sentence than he is doing now, according to the new recent law, the Police and Justice Act 2006. Although, the investigation of Scotland Yard and authorities in Finland, he was only found guilty on the first charge. The Investigation revealed that the so-called ‘m00p group’ had been infecting peoples computers by these unique viruses attached to unsolicited commercial emails.
