Lady Gaga has sold record breaking number of copies of its new album, “Born This Way.” Her album sold an ineffable 1.1 million copies, setting up another new record last week. This time it was a digital sales record, and was somewhat supported by Amazon.com. It was declared by Billboard on Tuesday that "Born This Way" made its debut in the charts straight at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, which consequently led it to be the 17th album to be able to sell a complete one million copies in its first week. These statistics were provided by SoundScan, which is keeping sales records since 1991.

The symbol of pop dance, Lady Gaga, has become the fifth female who sold more than a million copies of her album since the record-keeping of SoundScan. The debut album of Lady Gaga, which was also a No. 1 album on the charts, also holds the record of selling most copies in a debut by any artist, beating the March 2005 release of 50 Cent's "The Massacre," which sold 1.14 million. The previous album to sell a million copies was Taylor Swift's "Speak Now," released in November last year. Amazon is believed to have a helping hand in Lady Gaga’s record breaking sales, as it attempted to gain more customers by pricing the album at a retail of only 99 cents on last Tuesday and Thursday. This offer helped towering the sales "Born This Way" as it made extraordinary digital sales of around 662,000 copies. The figure was three folds than the estimated sales predicted by the Universal Music Group. Amazon alone was able to sell a total of 440,000 copies.

The group of hackers involved, also took responsibility for the complaints regarding the hacking of a recent "Frontline" investigative news program on WikiLeaks. PBS made the announcement on Monday morning through its official Twitter account declaring that the website was compromised. The fake published story was deleted by the administration at the same time on Monday morning. The news story was published on the website of the "PBS NewsHour" program, produced by WETA-TV in Arlington, Va.
The executive producer of "Frontline" program, David Fannin, stated that he just got to know about the hack attack as of Monday morning, i.e. a week after the "WikiSecrets" documentary was aired in the program. This documentary was produced by WGBH-TV in Boston and faced heavy criticism and skeptical debate programs favoring the WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange. Though according to Fanning, Asange personally thought that the program was fair. He said that getting a hack attack on the PBS after a news program was unusual but "probably not unexpected.” Fanning claimed that "from our point of view, we just see it as a disappointing and irresponsible act, especially since we have been very open to publishing criticism of the film ... and the film included other points of view.” He added that "this kind of action is irresponsible and chilling."

Google’s Chrome browser has gotten its users quickly doubled last year, as their senior V.P. of Chrome, Sundar Pichai, acclaim the user base has risen up to almost 160 million active members. This Tuesday Pichar was hosting a press conference at the Computex PC show in Taipei, when he stated that "Chrome OS is a computer model designed with various form factors in mind, but we are entirely focused on the notebook form factor for now. We have no other plans at this time," while replying to a question regarding the availability of Chrome for tablet PCs.
Google’s Chromebooks hosted by Chrome OS, are exclusively manufactured by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Acer Inc., and will be making their way in the market sometime this June. Chromebooks are direct challenge to Google’s rivals like Microsoft and Apple Inc. in computer operating systems. Google has recently inaugurated its first Chrome center in Taiwan, aimed to connect with more partners in the region, announced Pichai.
