The youngest winner ever of the famous TV show, "American Idol,” Scotty McCreery has landed straight at the number one spot on the iTunes single charts as of this Thursday, after his victory. Fox television network, the broadcaster of the TV Show, has also announced an extreme 21% increase in the nationwide viewership of the music finale of the long-running singing contest.
17-years-old McCreery is now not only the youngest contest to win the finale but the first country musician as well. He broke the record of being the youngest "Idol" title winner, previously held by Carrie Underwood in 2005. The teenage winner won the title over defeating the even younger finalist, 16-year-old Lauren Alaina. Both of these finalists are the youngest Top 2 contestants to ever compete in the finale of 10 years history of the shows. McCreery has recently released his latest song, titled "I Love You This Big," which bumped right to the number one spot on the iTunes singles charts, while Alaina's hit song "Like My Mother Does" rests at the third position.

Teen faces court suits from Apple for White iPhone conversion kits

White iPhone kits have seen very desperate attempts of creating kits by Apple fanboys, which has apparently reached an end-point for Apple. Apple recently traced down one such creator of White iPhone kits, Fei Lam. 17-years-old Lam, had previously ordered several integral parts of White iPhone from Apple’s official manufacturer, Foxconn, in November of 2010. His impatience led him to design and create a model which was worth $130,000 off the kits.
According to the news cited from Mac Rumors, Apple had hired a private investigator who was keeping full surveillance on the teenaged kid, along with his online website: WhiteiPhone4Now.com. The website has now been suspended and no longer online on the web. Apple did not only find the boy but has also filed a legal lawsuit against the teenager along with his parents. The lawsuit accuses Lam to be infringing on several Apple patents along with the violation of its trademark, additively it was also stated that the Liam used “deceptive practices” to create and selling those kits. Furthermore, Apple has stated that these kits were purposefully sold to confuse the customers of its registered products, and alleged that Liam’s parents were a part of this conduct, as Liam himself is an underage minor.
However despite all this legal actions, Apple seems not to be going for money but instead only scaring Lam and perhaps setting up an example. Simultaneously when Apple sued Lam, it also filed a “dismissal without prejudice,” application which gave Apple the right to sue the Lam in the future, if it chooses to, but will not sue him for money at the moment. This may also be interpreted as both the parties might have had a settlement out-of-court. In case there is disagreement, Apple reserves all the rights to sue Lam along with his family again, and they would be liable to return all the profits they might have made from selling the kits, also including the cost Apple may spend on pursuing this case.

Both Republicans and Democrats Give Skeptical Remarks to the AT&T Deal

Lawmakers from either side of the table have shown extreme skeptical remarks on Thursday, over the proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA by AT&T, as they suspect this deal will not be able to deliver the consumer benefits the wireless company has promised. This is a very controversial deal due to the extreme criticism it facing since many believe that it will further reduce the number of wireless carriers in competition. Moreover, many critics also have also showed concern that this deal will result in loss of discount carrier T-Mobile, which might consequently cause higher prices for its consumers.
The chairman of AT&T pictured the proposal as a transaction which will extend the reach of the company in countryside and other underserved areas. He said that "It's about achieving this with private capital," while addressing the U.S. House of Representatives' subcommittee on intellectual property, competition and the Internet. "We continue to invest at a very aggressive pace.” AT&T first announced in March, 2011 that it has plans to but T-Mobile USA from Deutsche Telekom AG for the amount of $39 billion, and if this deal is approved by the committee, it will accumulate a total of 80% of U.S. wireless contract customers in just two companies: AT&T/T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless. Verizon Wireless is currently number one wireless company of U.S., but if AT&T scores this deal, it will rise from its current number two position and take the lead as the leader of U.S. mobile carrier market.

New Your Judge Disapproves the Request of Dismissing the Huffington Post Lawsuit

According to the judgment passed by the New York judge, the two democratic political consultants are allowed to pursue their lawsuit against the founders of Huffington Post. This lawsuit claims that the founders of the news website actually stole the plaintiff’s idea, and allege the founders of breaking their legal contract of starting the website together. The attorneys of the Huffington Post co-founders, Arianna Huffington and Kenneth Lerer, had requested court to dismiss this complaint filed by the consultants, Peter Daou and James Boyce.
An oral argument took place between both the parties on Tuesday, under the supervision of Manhattan Supreme Court Justice, Charles Ramos. After hearing both the arguments, the judge announced that he disapproves the request of dismissing the case, and instead allows the plaintiff to continue their legal action for idea misappropriation and breach of contract. Ramos declared that both the parties should proceed with the lawsuit and discover the depth of the raised issue. According to the spokesperson of the AOL Huffington Post Media Group, despite this decision, the company is still very confident of winning the case in the end. AOL recently acquired Huffington Post for $315 million this February.
