Russians Deny Any Intentions To Ban Gmail or Skype In The Country


Russian security services have completely denied on Saturday any kind of news which indicates that the government has any intentions of banning services like Skype and Gmail in the country. The suspicion was raised after one of the elite officials of the government stated that these kinds of services are posing a very serious kind of mischievous security risk globally. It was the information and special communications director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) who spoke while in a cabinet meeting on Friday and claimed that such kind of services are growing "increasingly concerned" as with their foreign-made encryption technology.

Google Shuts down Hotpot, Continuing Its Services in Google Places


Google has made the decision of shutting down its only five year old feature, Hotpot. Hotpot was a very catchy feature of Google Places as it used to automatically suggest places to visit for the users through an engine which calculated the odds of the user liking that place. The name of the production ‘Hotpot’ has been known to be suspended but most of the technology and the services it offered are still to be a part of the Google Places experience, both on the web and in Google mobile apps.
So it will not be wrong to assume that Hotpot, still lives in Google Places, and Google hasn't totally lost the support for the services it offered of the place suggestions. But the users will soon realize that the mobile interface of Google Place Page is a little tempered as the name of Hotpot gets removed the ratings and place discovery features are now dumped deep down the page. Though the users addicted to those features can just scroll down the page avail the service.

Google Also Releases Its 'Check-In' Deals for the Mobile Users


Google Latitude has enhanced its software for mobile users having iPhones or Android-powered smartphones as it adds the ‘check-in’ services to its software. Users cheking-in more often at particular places get rewarded by the loyalty to shops or restaurants why they have visited more frequently.
Google implemented this new feature for all its United States completely on Thursday. It will allow the users to unlock discounts packages by continuously signing in with their location-tracking Latitude app in their mobile for checking-in at different places. According to the blog of Google Maps software engineer, Douglas Graham, he says that "Checking in lets you share the places that you visit and add context to your Latitude location for friends and family." Moreover he further explained the benefits that, "At the same time, you can keep a history of where you've been while gaining status at the places you visit the most."

Larry Page Completely Redefines The Management Of Google Inc. After The Take Over


The new C.E.O of Google Inc., Larry Page, who was a co-founder of the company and has now returned after almost a decade, has completely restructured the company. He has emphasized on six major key product of the company, which he intends to focus on personally, including; groups, social networking and mobile. He has now positioned executives of the groups directly reportable to him, along with abolishing all unnecessary management layers. He thinks that these will hinder the process of product development and slow the company’s progress.
